| I was born in Pasadena, California. My family moved around the state a fair amount, but we predominantly lived in Marin County in the north Bay Area. I graduated from San Marin High in Novato, in 1972. Afterwards, I attended College of Marin in Kentfield, graduating with an Associate of Science in Marine Science Technology. I was active in Young Life during high school and college which gave me a hunger for God. I moved to Oregon in the summer of 1974 and briefly lived on a small farm outside of Myrtle Point, Oregon which my aunt and uncle were renting. The little country churches in the area were run by Village Missions. It was on a trip that the youth group made to the Greenacres church that I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. Later that fall I enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. After basic training, I attended the Machinery Technician school in Yorktown, Virginia and in October 1975, I was stationed at Yaquina Bay, in Newport, Oregon. I attended the Newport Foursquare Church from 1976 to 1993. In February 1977, I met my soul mate, Joanie. We were married in October, the same year. We've been attending Toledo Foursquare Church since 1993. We have three adults children: Rebecca, Melissa and Daniel. Currently, I am employed by Lincoln County Fleet Services as a mechanic, and have been with them since 1987. I've been Men's Ministry Coordinator for four years. I also play guitar and drums as a member of the worship team and teach Sunday School as needed. My favorite outdoor activity is mountain biking.
